Herbert Park hoteliers get nod to build 105 apartments

Derryroe, a development company owned by the McSharry and Kennedy families, who also own the Herbert Park Hotel, has been granted a €23.1 million strategic planning application by An Bord Pleanála for a residential development located between Herbert Park and Pembroke Place in Ballsbridge in Dublin 4. The application allows for the construction of 105 apartments comprising 37 one-bedroom units, 66 two-bedroom units, and two three-bedroom units. Controversially, the grant includes permission to demolish 40 Herbert Park, the former home of The O’Rahilly, the only leader killed while fighting during the 1916 Rising.

Glenveagh chosen for Oscar Traynor Road scheme

Glenveagh has been chosen as the preferred bidder to construct a mix of private, social and affordable homes on the greenfield site located on the Oscar Traynor Road in north Co Dublin. The development site has an estimated minimum capacity for 640 units (subject to planning permission), with the exact number to be explored during the dialogue stage. More details are expected to be announced shortly, following additional information presented to the North Central Area Committee by Glenveagh.

 

Cairn to nix student digs for more apartments in Stillorgan

Cairn Homes is currently in a consultation phase to alter planning permission for the €44m residential/student accommodation development at the former Blake’s restaurant and Esmonde Motors Sites on the Stillorgan Road, just off the N11 in south Co Dublin. The consultation application wishes to omit the student accommodation aspect of the grant planning permission and increase the number of apartments from 103 to 464 units. Cairn Homes is currently in the process of acquiring an adjoining site to this development. The intention of this was mentioned in its interim report on
the first six months of 2020.

€55m BTR scheme planned for Palmerstown

Randelswood Holdings has been granted a €55 million strategic housing development comprising apartments on a site located at the lands at Palmerstown Retail Park, Kennelsfort Road Lower, in Palmerstown in Dublin 20. The build to rent (BTR) development will consist of the demolition of all existing structures on site and the construction of a residential development of 250 BTR apartments. These include 134 one-beds and 116 two-beds in five blocks, with a café and ancillary residential amenity facilities on site.

€52m SHD is granted for Santry

KN Investments and Caltrackhave been granted a strategic housing development application by An Bord Pleanála for a €52 million mixed-use development located on the Swords Road in Santry, Dublin 9. The project will consist of the demolition of existing structures and the construction of 324 apartments, a creche and associated site works.

Marlet applies for 224 apartments in Saggart

Marlet Property has submitted a strategic housing development application to An Bord Pleanála for a €49 million apartment development at Garters Lane in Saggart in south-west Dublin. The development will consist of 224 apartment units comprising 82 one-beds, 121 two-bed units and 21 three-bed units arranged in four blocks alongside all associated public open spaces, communal amenity spaces and private amenity spaces comprising terraces/balconies. A decision is expected to be made by An Bord Pleanála by the start of January 2021.
