Marlet seeks planning for Sandyford apartments

Marlet Property has submitted a strategic housing development application to An Bord Pleanála to construct a build-to-rent development of 428 apartments. The €97 million project is located at the former Avid Technology International site on Carmanhall Road, Sandyford Industrial Estate, Dublin 18. Planning permission had previously been granted to Prime Living Limited in April 2019 to develop the site into a student accommodation that would have allowed up to 706 bed spaces to be constructed. The current application is seeking permission for a 17-storey building with all apartments having access to 2,600 square metres of communal amenity space comprising a cinema, gym, yoga studio, laundry, and café/lounge at ground floor level. A decision is due in August 2021.

Boderg sets date to begin Laois development

Main contractor Boderg Developments is expected to commence construction works in May/June 2021 on phase one of a €34.1 million residential development located Foxburrow, Beladd, Portlaoise, Co Laois. The first phase comprises 21 units, with the overall project allowing for the building of 155 units. There will be 115 two-storey terraced, semi-detached and detached dwellings (including 44 four-bedroom houses, 48 three-bedroom houses and 23 two-bedroom houses). The project will also include four one-bed maisonettes in a two-storey block and 36 apartments provided in three three-storey apartment buildings, with each block proposing 12 units, providing a total of 18 one-bedroom apartments and 18 two-bedroom apartments.

A 101-apartment development for Blackrock, Co Dublin

Glenveagh gets go-ahead for 140 Blackrock flats

Glenveagh Homes has been granted a strategic housing development application by An Bord Pleanála for the construction of 140 apartment units on lands adjacent and to the rear of Cluain Mhuire Family Centre in Blackrock, Co Dublin. The €30 million development will also provide a communal amenity space of some 889 square metres and a public open space of about 1,680 square metres totalling 2,569 square metres. Also provided in the application are 97 car parking spaces (29 of which are surface and 68 basement). The application also includes 226 cycle parking spaces (56 of which are surface and 170 basement) and six motorcycle spaces.

Cairn’s €35m Cherrywood project kicks off

Cairn Homes has commenced phase one works on the construction of 57 houses on lands at Mercer Vale in Cherrywood in Dublin 18 and all roads, infrastructure and site works associated. The overall planning permission on the €35 million residential developments allows for the construction of 296 units with 184 apartment units and 112 houses. The development is located within the designated land zone for the Cherrywood town development, for which works have been ongoing since December 2017.

Green light for Dun Laoghaire rental apartments

Fitzwilliam Dl has been granted a strategic housing application for a €22 million residential development on the lands of St Michael’s Hospital car park on Crofton Road in Dún Laoghaire, south Co Dublin. It will consist of the demolition of an existing two-storey house on the site and the construction of 102 build-to rent residential apartments across two buildings, along with ancillary residential amenities and a publicly accessible café (with an overall total gross floor space of some 8,765 square metres) on a site of about 0.42 hectares.

Boston Sidings project breaks ground

Main contractor Colleen Construction has begun the main building works on the €141 million office development known as ‘Boston Sidings’. Located by the Grand Canal Dock in Dublin 2, the 20,000 square metre commercial development by Bartra Capital will see the construction of a 10-storey office development over a basement. The project consists of offices designed for single or multiple tenancies and is expected to be completed by Q2/Q3 2023.
