CIS Covid-19 Update

Following on from our previous update, our Research Team are continuing to engage with local and national planning authorities, government bodies and our extensive industry contacts to provide updates on construction activity permitted during the current lockdown.

From our interaction with over half of the planning authorities in Ireland to date, North and South, CIS have been able to ascertain that almost all councils surveyed/interviewed expect to see no delays in planning application validation nor decision making, this also includes An Bord Pleanála. Furthermore, most councils are working remotely with some having a rotational system in place for different teams working one week in the office and one week at home.

To date our Research Team have identified 234 projects which meet the criteria to allow them to continue operating throughout January and there are circa 680 projects which are now stalled until restrictions are lifted again from 31st January following government review.
