Construction Information Technology AlliancE
The Construction Information Technology Alliance (CITA) originated as a research
project in the Dublin Institute of Technology in 2002. CITA’s aim is
to encourage participants in the Irish Construction Industry to take full advantage
of current and emerging Information and Communication Technologies (ICT). The
organisation has grown to a membership base of 140 companies drawn from a wide cross-section
of the Irish construction industry. The organisation’s mission is "to
provide independent and active leadership to the Irish Construction Industry, in
the application of current and emerging information and communication technologies
throughout the entire construction process". Receipt of subscription
funding allows the organisation to organise member meetings, specialist seminars,
delivery of relevant training programmes, manage a very informative website and
apply for external research funding on behalf of members. Recent developments
include the Enterprise Ireland funded CITAX Project and receipt of a development
grant to prepare for a full skillnets funding application.
